On the use of magnetic particles to enhance the flow of vibrated grains through narrow apertures

The flow of grains through narrow apertures possess an extraordinary challenge: clogging. Strategies to alleviate the effect clogging, such as use external vibration or addition smaller grains, are always part design machinery for handling bulk materials. In this work, we study with numerical simulations adding self-repelling magnetic particles a sample grains. We consider vibrated two-dimensional hopper small orifice which disks and clog intermittently. find that repulsion has second order in comparison size added Small ease original species.
